Here is some information about the North Carolina Zoo.
~Located just south of Asheboro, the North Carolina Zoo is seated on a 1,500 tract of land in the Uwharrie Mountains. Approximately 500 acres of this property have been developed into one of the largest "natural habitat" zoos in the United States. You won't find cages made of steel and concrete here! Our animals are given enclosures that mimic their natural habitats to include trees, ponds, rocks, grass and dirt.~

I hope you enjoyed some of the pictures from our Zoo trip. If any of you live anywhere close to The Piedmont of North Carolina you should make a trip. Its a really great experience and its fairly cheap!

Oh I love the pics! I want to go so bad, but as you know moneys tight. Maybe one day we will go. I am hoping we can go before it gets to cold. Aiden would love it! Glad you had fun. ;)
HiJessica, thanks for sharing photos of your day at the zoo. We haven't been in a long time but now you make me want to take a trip! The flowers are what I keep an eye on too, not just the animals..lol.

Your attention to the blooms at the zoo reminds me that I need to do that next time we go! It seems I've been very caught up in the animals and the kids and neglect the flowers! My mom is moving away from NC (Raleigh area) tomorrow...so I guess I won't get down that way any time soon--but your zoo sounds really nice;-)

I love going to the zoo. The flowers are gorgeous. Beautiful pictures. Guess I'd better be making arrangements to take my Grandsons to the zoo. We always have a great day when we go.
Looks like you guys had lots of fun. We went to the Memphis zoo not too long ago. It was great!
